The first-ever e-votes in the country were polled today during the elections to six municipal corporations in Gujarat.
It was for the first time that any State Election Commission allowed on-line polling. The response to the introduction of new polling system, however, was not very encouraging with few people opting to vote on-line.
BJP leader and Lok Sabha member from the State, L.K. Advani, and Chief Minister Narendra Modi, both voters in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, exercised their franchise. Mr. Modi timed voted on 10th october at 10.10 a.m
